Education for children in Togo
Project target £250
The primary school in Tchaware, a district in Tchaoudjo in central Togo, currently has 195 students, 109 boys and 86 girls. The community has made important efforts to ensure that all children, boys as well as girls, get an education. However, you'll see from the photo that the existing school building leaves a lot to be desired. The building is made of dried mud; the classrooms are dark, small and open to the elements so classes are often disrupted or halted altogether by rain, wind or the sun. This is an un-stimulating and unsafe learning environment for the children.
To help combat these issues, one of the priorities in the Tchaware community is to build two blocks of latrines for girls and one block of latrines for boys.
