Haiti Appeal Donate goods to shops: January 2010

D onate unwanted goods to British Red Cross shops.

From Friday 22 January until Saturday 13 February, our 323 shops around the UK will accept items donated specifically to the DEC appeal. Money from the sale of these items will go directly to the appeal.

You can drop off good quality clothing, books, home ware and unwanted gifts at your local Red Cross shop. You should say at the time that you want your goods to be sold for Haiti and they will then be labelled for shoppers to see.

At times of disasters the Red Cross helps provide life-saving items to those affected. We have pre-positioned stocks in our regional warehouses and these are distributed to the people in need. We are not therefore collecting goods to be distributed from the UK.

However, from Friday 22 January to Saturday 13 February (inclusive), you can donate unwanted goods to your local British Red Cross shop, with all money raised from the sales going directly to the DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal.*

When you donate the goods, you should state that you want the money to go to Haiti. Other donated goods will continue to be accepted and sold in Red Cross shops with the money going as usual to help vulnerable people in crisis in the UK and overseas.
