NEWS FLASH Kenya Crisis: January 2008
The British Red Cross has opened an appeal to help hundreds of thousands of people affected by the crisis in Kenya.
The country erupted into violence on 30 December following the results of the presidential election. Hundreds of people have been killed and injured, and hundreds of thousands displaced due to the clashes.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working with the Kenya Red Cross to help the wounded and displaced.
The appeal will provide medical equipment, drugs and other supplies to help the injured. It will also support at least 100,000 displaced people with food, household items, water and sanitation equipment for several weeks.
